Hi There! Welcome to my site, and thank you for visiting!
My name is Pam, and in my house, I wear many hats. I work full time from home as a web developer, but I also spend a lot of my time taking care of my family and our home.
I love to make my own foods from scratch. As I write this, I have a quart of freshly-made yogurt incubating on the counter, a jar of sauerkraut fermenting in my pantry, and a side of pork in the fridge downstairs slowly curing into bacon. After I finish my work tasks for the day, I’ll make a fresh loaf of bread, and then it’s on to laundry and maybe a bit of sewing before it’s time to throw dinner together.
When do I have time for all of this? Don’t get me wrong – I’m not a Super Woman. I wish there were more hours in the day so I could pay some attention to the state of my house, and I know most working moms would agree. Most days we have to pick our priorities, don’t we?
But having small appliances handle some of the workload helps me balance my work life with those priorities. The yogurt is in a temperature-controlled incubator, which means that I don’t have to check the temperature every 5 minutes to make sure that the cultures will grow properly. The bread maker I use daily means that making bread takes me five minutes and not three hours. While the robotic vacuum isn’t perfect, it does do a good enough job that the chore of vacuuming can be left for Saturdays and not every day. Small appliances keep me sane and free up time for tasks that need more attention.
Ironing is one of those tasks that I can’t ignore. If you love looking your best and find yourself hanging out by your ironing board more than once a month, you know what I’m talking about. You probably also understand that a great steam iron will perform better than even an average one.
My husband thinks I have an obsession with gadgets, and maybe I do. I’m always researching everything from vacuum cleaners to gas grills and everything in between, selectively choosing new devices to help me accomplish a task better or faster. A large part of picking the right tool the first time is to properly analyze benefits and drawbacks, and compare it to others. Many people either don’t know how to do this, or don’t care to.
This site is born from that obsession. Though many people don’t think twice about buying a steam iron, I have personally found that regardless of the price tag, there are good steam irons and there are ‘just average’ steam irons. Many people will buy what I call an average steam iron and not even know what they’re missing. Others will know the first time they use it. LifeUnwrinkled.com was created to help you find that great iron the first time.
The goal of this site is to provide you with enough information to feel comfortable about purchasing the right steam iron the first time. I will try to give you as much knowledge as I can possibly share through detailed steam iron reviews and comparisons as well as tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way. Steam irons aren’t just for ironing clothes after all, though a second one for special projects isn’t such a bad idea!
I hope that I meet my site goals, and that you find everything you need to know and maybe a little more!
